As Sorcery, Montreal-born, Berlin-based drummer, producer and visual artist Merlin Ettore combines acoustic, organic sounds with electronic drums while emphasizing interdisciplinary art forms. His composition process is divided into two parts: The textural level is experimental and hands-on, while the structural level, the arrangement, takes place mainly on computer. His playing style is strongly influenced by his experience as a musical director and percussionist for theater, dance and circus productions. Today at Berghain, Sorcery will present his energetic techno in a live set. For the Sunday concert at Säule, Alan Abrahams aka Portable will be playing his Afro-electronic auteur house. In April, he released his new single “It's Never Again”, offering a spiritual club sound mixed with conceptual electronics and personal, almost fragile vocals.
