Before his days in Berlin developing a sound under the name Phase Fatale, combining the sharpness of industrial and EBM with the power of techno, Hayden Payne played in post-punk bands such as Dream Affair and went to new-wave parties organized by Weird Records in New York. Seven years after his last live performance at the Dekmantel Festival in 2018, Phase Fatale will make his Berghain live debut tonight – and if his Instagram post is to be believed, it could mean a return to the guitar. Rock out with your cock out! Xiaolin is a DJ/producer, vinyl collector and former concert violinist from Hong Kong. After studying classical violin, jazz and electronic composition and spending two years in London, she developed a deep connection to British underground culture. Influenced by sounds from the 80s to the 00s, video games, anime, film, nature and her Cantonese roots, her style ranges from acid house and breaks to shimmering techno and downtempo. After her live gig at Sound Metaphors' ninth anniversary party, Xiaolin is playing her first DJ set with us tonight.
