After the live collaboration between Colin Benders and Sterac announced last year had to be canceled last-minute, this pairing of two generations of analog expertise is finally making its way to the Berghain dancefloor. Benders, who's been hard at work exploring the Eurorack system in recent years, eschews the safety of pre-programmed sequences in his performances. Opposite him is Steve Rachmad aka Sterac, whose Detroit-techno-influenced discography dates back to the early 90s. Their set promises a live experience that intertwines Sterac’s structural rigor with the kinetic energy of Benders’ live improvisations. Meanwhile, Elisa Batti makes her Berghain debut: The Amsterdam-based Italian approaches techno from an academic perspective; her background in sound design and her releases hint at a set favoring psychoacoustic nuances and dark, hypnotic textures. At Panorama Bar, the lineup includes British artist Anish Kumar, whose productions often stand out for their skillful sampling of Indian musical traditions and classic house vibes. And under the moniker Ron Bacardi, none other than Ben Sims will be playing a disco-infused house set.
