Klubnacht

Although Josh Caffé’s natural habitat is Panorama Bar, for this edition of Klubnacht, he’ll take the Berghain floor for the first time. The London-based British-Ugandan DJ, producer, and singer is firmly rooted in the tradition of Chicago house and electro-funk. As a guest vocalist for the neo-acid group Paranoid London and as a producer on Phantasy Sound, he channels his talent with spectacular energy and a penchant for raw, bass-heavy sequences. British producer Hurdslenk will be performing live. Following releases on Hayes and Key Vinyl, his latest EP Selected Sounds on Steffi’s Dolly Records showcases an exceptionally delicate sound design: metallic stabs, dry percussion loops and distinctive industrial elements. Among the DJs upstairs are Berlin-based Welsh artist Gwenan, who digs deep into the archives of leftfield House, early 90s Sheffield sounds and groovy tech-house, as well as Majdolen: no stranger to Berlin’s queer party scene, the Syrian-born DJ/producer will make her debut here with a charismatic mix of disco hybrids, raw house and minimalist psychedelia.
