Since the late 90s, Alden Tyrell has remained one of the most influential figures on the Dutch electronic music scene. In his productions, the Rotterdam-based artist combines references to Chicago house, Detroit electro and Italo disco to create his own instantly captivating style. His early tracks, inspired by Patrick Cowley's hi-NRG productions, such as “Love Explosion” and “Phaze Me,” are now considered classics of the electro-disco wave that labels such as Viewlexx and Clone carried forward after the turn of the millennium. Characterized by a respectful approach to electronic traditions, his work never falls into pure nostalgia, also blending in elements of dub techno, classic acid and funky techno. At the end of 2025, his best-of compilation Times Like These (1999–2006) was remastered and re-released on Clone. Tyrell will be playing live at this edition of Italorama alongside DJs such as Fabrizio Mammarella and Giulia Gutterer with their joint project Galleria Europa, Pinkman founder Marsman and Tam Tam, organizer of the local club night PDA (Public Display of Affection).
